The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD) was developed to provide a world-class conference venue in the heart of Ireland’s capital city, an ideal location to entice the international business tourism market.

Since The CCD opened in September 2010, we have hosted over 2,300 events and welcomed over 1.5 million visitors and delegates.

To date, The CCD holds 66 awards and a number of internationally recognised accreditations and certifications. The business continues to position Ireland on the world stage for international conferences, congresses and events.

Our Host Team is the first point of contact for delegates at CCD events. Bringing their personality and passion for customer service, they ensure a smooth running and friendly event for all involved. We are proud of our current hosts and are looking for like-minded individuals to join our expanding friendly team at The Convention Centre Dublin (The CCD). We are currently hiring part-time Hosts.

The CCD is a 7-day business which means we have shifts to suit varying schedules. Event shifts range from 4-12 hours with rostering being done based on your availability. There are opportunities to work multiple longer shifts in a week to maximize your free days.

Job requirements

As a CCD Host your key responsibilities and traits include:

·        Responsible for welcoming delegates to The CCD, helping them to familiarise themselves with the building and the surrounding area, guiding them through their event and ensuring they get the most from their time with us

·        Support event operation when rostered

·        You will work as part of a team, rotating duties, and schedules

·        You are enthusiastic, friendly, and open

·        You have strong communications skills, an understanding of the needs of our clients and delegates and appreciate the importance of delivering premium levels of customer service

·        Previous experience in the customer service, hospitality or events industry would be an advantage

 

Duties

Duties will be advised by the Event Manager for each event either in a team briefing or by document received at the start of your shift. Duties include but are not limited to: 

·        Welcome and orientation on foyers

·        Assisting with crowd control throughout events

·        Badge or ticket checking

·        Seating in Auditorium

·        Counting delegates when close to capacities in certain spaces

·        Encouraging people movement at breakout times and lunches

·        Complying with Health & Safety guidelines and advising delegates and exhibitors of same

·        Helping to evacuate the building in the event of an emergency evacuation
