Job Title:  Housekeeping Staff

Reporting to: Head of Campus

Location: Griffith College Cork

Job Type: Part-Time / Fixed-Term



Working Hours: 2:30 PM to 6:30 PM, Monday to Friday (20 hours per week)



Job Summary:


 

The role of housekeeping staff is to maintain a clean, safe and comfortable environment for staff and students.

 

Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Adhering to all Health & Safety guidelines
  • Removing any identified risks such as trip hazards
  • The vacuuming of rooms, corridors and emptying all waste bins
  • Cleaning glass and mirrors
  • Sweeping and mopping floor surfaces
  • Cleaning bathrooms and toilets
  • Cleaning all common areas
  • Ensuring that rooms are odour free
  • Reporting anything in need of repair or replacement to the appropriate person
  • Keep cleaning area tidy at all times and cleaning materials safely stored
  • Maintain polite communication with staff at all times
  • Promote a friendly and welcoming atmosphere for staff
  • Any other duties that fall within the employee’s capabilities
  • Occasional use of ladder, bending, stooping and lifting are required
