Job Title: Internal Communications Executive

Reports to: Head of Organisation Development

Location: Calor Ireland - Dublin, Cork or Belfast

Contract Type: Permanent Role

Overview:

We are looking for a dynamic Internal Communications Executive to join our team at Calor Ireland. This is a permanent position, based in Dublin, Cork, or Belfast. The role involves engaging employees and supporting Calor's Accelerate28 Strategy by developing and executing an internal communications strategy aligned with our goals. Key responsibilities include delivering internal news, overseeing campaigns and events, and enhancing communication through new technologies. Collaboration with the Marketing team is essential to ensure consistent internal branding across all locations. The ideal candidate will help foster an innovative and collaborative workplace culture, crucial for the Energy Transition.

Functions of the role/Main Responsibilities:

  • Drive the implementation of the internal communications strategy that engages and aligns Calor Ireland people around the company's strategic objectives, values, and mission.
  • Develop and deliver engaging internal news, change programmes, employee updates, internal campaigns, and events, embracing new technologies.
  • Accountability for internal branding in conjunction with the Marketing team to deliver an inspiring and consistent message across all Calor locations.
  • Generate and lead creative campaigns in line with our strategy that engage, inspire, and motivate employees.
  • Review communication process flow, channels, and meeting structures; identify gaps and blockages; ensure an optimal mix of top-down, sideways, and bottomup communication.
  • Coordinate Calor's primary communication forums, including the Manager Forum, Team Leader Forum, and Calor's cross-functional Communications Network.
  • Support the QHSE team and Safety Committees by creating and delivering communications materials that effectively drive and promote the safety agenda within the organization.
  • Coordinate and run town hall events for strategic communications across the business, ensuring the use of technology to provide access to remote sites.
  • Co-ordinate the delivery of the employee engagement survey and regular ‘temperature check’ pulse surveys to collect valuable analytics and insights across the employee lifecycle.
  • Create and deliver nudge communications to maintain managers' focus, ensuring that employee engagement action plans are effectively implemented and sustained across all levels of the organization.
  • Run simple, effective and innovative communications channels that are accessible, easy to use, engaging and encourage dialogue.
  • Support the implementation of our Employer Branding strategy and implement Calor Ireland’s Employee Value Proposition (EVP) that helps us to attract and retain the best talent, creating supporting assets, such as videos, e-brochures, podcasts, etc
  • Support the implementation our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme to build collaboration and engagement.
  • Work in collaboration with key colleagues across all four pillars of our Economic, Environment, Social, and Governance (EESG) agenda, creating and delivering communications to support activities and drive awareness and employee engagement.

Requirements

The Person Specification:

  • Minimum 2 to 5 years’ experience in an internal communications or marketing role.
  • Education to a degree level or highly relevant compensating work experience in the energy industry.
  • An innovative and data driven mindset.
  • Demonstrated strong experience in internal communications, event planning, PR, sponsorship and collaborative work of workshop facilitation.
  • Knowledge and experience of leveraging website’s and social platforms to promote internal and EVP messaging.
  • Team player with a track record of working in a highly collaborative environment.
  • Clear passion for collaborating with colleagues from the businesses to enable culture change.
  • Collaborative team player who is results driven with lots of energy and enthusiasm for the role.
  • Hold a full clean driving license and must have the capacity and flexibility to travel throughout the country as required. Occasionally travel to other business units within the SHV family.
  • Has the courage, gravitas and social skill to effectively challenge issues of trust, behaviour and social dynamics.
  • A strong strategic awareness and the ability to think big picture are essential to effectively align internal communications initiatives with the overarching goals and vision of the organization.
