Job Vacancy:  Personal Assistant Navan Area



Requirements:


·        Reliable, dedicated, compassionate person, with ability to adapt to fluctuating needs of the person with a disability


·        2 contactable written references,


·        Driver’s License class B, valid in Ireland, ability to drive a stick shift car.


·        Eligible to work in Ireland,


·        Some knowledge/experience of disability issues would be good but isn’t essential.


·        Occasional flexibility required with hours of work.



Duties:


·        Assisting the person with a disability to live their fullest life,


·        Personal care tasks, domestic chores, meal preparation, shopping, driving.


·        Support with getting out into the community,


·        Accompanying the person to hospital appointments.



Terms and Conditions:


·        €15.39 per hour as starting rate of pay (increases yearly and possibly higher rate on scale depending on experience),


·        basic rate x 1.25 for anti social hrs,


·        basic rate x 1.5 on a Sunday,


·        basic rate x 2 on Public Holidays



Hours


·        While some flexibility will be required the general hours will be


o   Tuesday - 1 hour - 5 to 6 pm


o   Friday  -  2 hours - 10 to 11 am and 5 to 6 pm


o   Saturday - 2 hours - 10 to 11 am and 5 to 6 pm


o   Sunday - 1 hour - 10 to 11 am


o   2 additional hours which will be flexible


o  Total  8 hours



Line Management


·        This post comes under the Leader Service of the IWA.  This means that the person with the disability is the line manager, that they direct their own service, but that the contract of Employment with the Irish Wheelchair
