Starboard Group is seeking a dynamic, people-focused Assistant Manager to join our retail leadership team aboard a premier luxury cruise ship. What You’ll Do:
Lead & Develop Talent:Coach, motivate, and inspire a diverse retail team to deliver exceptional guest service and achieve sales targets.
Drive Results:Partner with the Retail Manager to develop sales strategies, analyze performance, and implement actions to maximize revenue and guest satisfaction.
Champion Guest Experience:Set the tone for an upbeat, welcoming atmosphere that delights guests and embodies the Starboard Way.
Operational Excellence:Oversee store operations, ensure compliance with company and cruise line policies, and maintain high standards for inventory, safety, and presentation.
Build Relationships:Collaborate with onboard management and foster a culture of transparency, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Experience: 1-2 years’ management experience in retail or hospitality (luxury experience a plus).
Education:High school diploma required; further studies in retail/hospitality are a bonus.
Skills:
Natural leader with a proven record of developing talent
Strong communicator with multicultural awareness
Confident decision-maker and problem-solver
Adaptable, resilient, and thrives in a dynamic, high-energy environment
Proficient in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Physical Requirements:
Able to travel/live aboard a cruise ship for 6-month contracts
Willing to work up to 77 hours/week, 7 days a week
Able to stand for long periods and lift up to 55 lbs
Must have a valid passport (seaman book a plus)
Able to participate in safety drills
