We are currently hiring an <\/span><\/span>Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)\-6 Months Contract<\/span><\/span><\/b> to support the leadership of a Nursing Home in <\/span><\/span>Dublin, Ireland<\/span><\/span><\/b>.<\/span>

This is a <\/span><\/span>full\-time position on a 6\-month fixed\-term contract<\/span><\/span><\/b>.

<\/span><\/span>Responsibilities<\/span><\/span><\/b>

  • Support the Director of Nursing in overseeing the clinical care of residents and the overall day\-to\-day operations of the nursing home, ensuring high standards of care at all times.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Promote a person\-centred care culture that supports residentsҀ™ independence, wellbeing, and quality of life while working closely with residents and their families.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Demonstrate strong clinical expertise in the care of older persons, ensuring practices align with current evidence\-based standards.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Assist in the effective management of resources to support continuous quality improvement within the service.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Participate in the daily management of the home, including conducting regular nursing rounds and supporting staff in delivering quality care.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Support the development, review, and implementation of policies, procedures, and care standards within the organisation.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and the <\/span><\/span>HIQA National Standards<\/span><\/span><\/b>, assisting with their implementation and monitoring within the home.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Support clinical governance activities, including quality improvement initiatives, clinical audits, and the investigation of complaints, incidents, and near misses.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Provide leadership, supervision, and mentorship to nursing staff and Care Assistants, promoting professional development and best nursing practices.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Assist with staff management and development, including recruitment, training, performance reviews, rostering, and supporting ongoing education and professional growth.<\/span>

    Requirements<\/h3>
  • Must be registered with An Bord Altranais (NMBI).
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • A minimum of 5 years post\-registration nursing experience, including at least 2 years in a management role within a residential care setting.
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Strong knowledge of relevant healthcare legislation and HIQA National Standards for Residential Care Settings.
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous professional development (CPD)
