 Key Responsibilities<\/b><\/span><\/span>

  • Participate actively in continuous quality improvement, risk management programmes, and JCI accreditation processes in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Independently manage assigned patients in the OPD setting, delivering safe, evidence\-based, and patient\-centred care.
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Assist consultants with orthopaedic procedures while maintaining and enhancing clinical standards of care.
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Conduct patient consultations, manage follow\-up calls, coordinate appointments, and support the efficient delivery of outpatient services.
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Provide comprehensive patient and family education in both clinic and telephone settings, ensuring accurate and timely documentation of all interactions.
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Adhere strictly to the Professional Scope of Practice Framework (2015) and all hospital\-wide policies to ensure optimal clinical governance and patient safety.
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Contribute to data collection, statistical reporting, outcome evaluations, and participate in research initiatives supporting departmental practice.
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Maintain effective communication and collaborative relationships with consultants, physicians, hospital departments, patients, and families to maximise patient outcomes.
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Promote professional development by maintaining a portfolio, attending relevant study days, and sustaining clinical competence in the Orthopaedic specialty.
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Act as a mentor, preceptor, or supervisor to students and newly appointed staff, fostering a respectful, supportive, and professional working environment.

    Requirements<\/h3>
  • Hold active registration as a General Nurse with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI), maintaining licensure in good standing.
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Possess a minimum of three years’ clinical experience, including at least one year in an Orthopaedic setting.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Demonstrate experience in supporting and facilitating multidisciplinary service delivery within a dynamic and fast\-paced healthcare environment.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Exhibit strong leadership qualities, teaching ability, professional judgment, critical thinking, and problem\-solving skills, with the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Communicate clearly and professionally in written and spoken English, with the ability to present information concisely and confidently.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Show strong teamwork skills, motivation, adaptability, and an innovative approach to patient care and service improvement, including an understanding of change management principles.<\/span>
    <\/span><\/span><\/p><\/li>

  • Demonstrate effective planning, organisational, and time management skills, with flexibility to adapt to rostering requirements (including night duty and on\-call), and contribute to ongoing service development initiatives.<\/span>
